His works have
been selected in Emperor Exhibition and Province
Exhibition during Japanese Occupation. His sketching
style was based on the impression. He utilized
rough and short style of drawing to display his
reaction of the modeling of the scenic spots. He
was so subjective and vivid in coloring by taking
the colors he wants and discarding the shape he
doesn't need. He devoted himself on teaching in
the University of Teacher Training after the Restoration
of Taiwan, He was an educationist of Art and an
art with original style and magnificent colors.
Mr. Liao utilized rich and colorful colors to wake up the deep-sleepy imaginative power of common people. He said: ˇ§Color is objective, it is absolutely not necessary to imitate the nature. The world of the drawing is limitless, the painters should make use of their imagination while they are painting. The appreciators should realize the nature from different angles and viewpoints while they are looking at the pictures. That's what Mr. Liao wanted to tell us from his painting. |
