Zhanglihun was poor when he was young. He entered to Taipei Second Teacher-training School and learned from Shichuanqinyilang about the skill of traditional watercolor. After he graduated from the school, he had to teach to pay off the debt and give up the opportunity of further education in drawing in Japan
In the 35 th year of R.O.C. Era, he was the president of Fengyuan Elementary School , he pushed forward the art and craft educations, educated numerous genius. In the 54 th of Chines Era, he took up the post of the decorator at the Industry Design Department in Mingzhi Industry College , he still made more efforts to promote industrial Arts and founded ¡§Calabash Arts Study Association¡¨ with Lishiqiao to give an impetus to the art activities and to bring up numerous famous artists in Middle Taiwan. Although Zhanglihun could not go to Japan for further education, he was so diligent to go abroad to draw and paint. He could be the model of ¡§Educationist and Artist¡¨. |

Zhanglihun was pragmatic and diligent in sketch. The composition of his picture was so conscientious and careful.
Especially when he drew the rock, he utilized mutiple colors and unique technique to make the rock as vivid as life. He was famed as ¡§the Father of Rock¡¨
His drawing , the corner of Fengyuan, was selected at the first ¡§Township Exhibition¡¨ in 1927. From then on, his works had been selected at the ¡§City Exhibition¡¨, and finally he got the special honor that all his works were selected without any examination at the Province Exhibition of Arts. Besides, he originated an oil painting for charity. The art activities he joined and the prise he got could see his inflexibility and achievement in drawings. |
