Light
Channel is a water channel mainly on generating
electricity. The two words “Electricity
and Fire” in Hakka and Taiwanese languages
mean the light, therefore the locals call
this water channel digged by Taisho Imperial
Era during coloniel period the light channel
could not be more appropriate. Light channel
induces the water from Eight Treasure Channel,
a conduit for irrigation. There are plentiful
animal and plant ecology along the line,
while the sidewalk set on aside. By walking
on that along the water channel, you not
only can hear the bird sining and bug calling,
but also drink in the silence of great nature.
The light channel on the halfway up a hill
has great view and sight. From here, we
can see the continuous and range upon range
of Central Mountian, the highest one among
them is snow mountain. We can see the snow
mountain like a hawk mouth in sunny days,
which the Hakka people living on mountain
city called it “sparrow hawk mouth” or “sparrow
hawk grandma” (“sparrow hawk grandma” means
eagle in Hakka language.
