The
head of hundred years old Mango Tree in
Plum Villiage appear flat connected with
three branches of big trunks, which branches
and leaves are very flourishing that spread
over around oneground. It looks like three
trees growing together if seeing from distance
and need 10 people’s arms around to hold
its root, which is the oldest mango tree
of Taichung County.Although old mango tree
already over two hundred years old, there
also a saying that it is over four hundred
years old, this fruit tree still grows clusters
of fruits in all seasons, which not like
the decending quality and productivities
occurred to general old trees. According
to the local grand old man, this tree was
this big while they were kids.In early years,
this Mango Tree was sourround by farmland.
The ancestor built a Tudikung Temple under
that tree over hundred year from now, which
is the religious center of villiage people.
People in old generation would have chatting,
relaxing in cool place, chasing, meanwhile
kids would climb the tree for play. Therefore,
this place not only becoming a indispensable
place during their life procedure of local
people, but also a good place for chatting
and relaxing.
